To my Mom

This week’s blog post is a special shout-out to my incredible mother. I’d also like to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who are reading this. I can’t imagine a world without moms who are always serving and sacrificing for their families.
Although I couldn’t be with my mom today, I still want her to know how thankful I am for everything she’s done in my life. So, without further ado, here are just 35 reasons why I love my mom so much <3
- She never stops serving others. Whether it be making dinner for the family or volunteering to do yet another task that no one else wants to do, she is always putting others first.
- Her faith. My mom has set an incredible example by devoting her life to God and his calling. She is always spending time in God’s Word and lives every day to bring glory to him.
- She does Zumba... Regularly. Not a lot of people can say their mother is a Zumba fanatic, but I definitely can. I love my mom's personality and her persistent attempts to take me to Zumba and teach me some of her moves.
- She's an excellent cook. I already mentioned how my mom makes dinner even when she has many other things she could be doing. But I didn't mention how good it always is!! After leaving for college, I've definitely missed her cooking.
- She always knows exactly what to say. No matter what I'm going through, the first person I always want to talk to is my mom. She has so much godly wisdom and I know I can count on her whenever I need it.
- She always does the little things to make me feel loved. She makes sure to tell me goodnight and that she loves me every single night, and it's those simple texts that often leave me smiling at the end of the day.
- She has never stopped supporting me. Through sports, school, big decisions, prayer and etc., my mom is one of my biggest supporters. Whether it be always sharing my blog posts and letting me know she read it, or trying to watch as many of my volleyball games online as she can since she can't always be there in person, I always know she is going to encourage and support me in whatever I do.
- She puts up with my attitude. Although it is never her fault, I tend to take a lot of my stress and bad attitude at the end of the day out on her. She's always loving and tries to cheer me up, or she lets me be alone when she knows I need it. Sorry for all the sass over the years, Mom, and thank you for understanding and loving me anyways.
- Among many other things, she's taught me to stay true to myself and what I believe. In the midst of trial and temptation to make decisions that would go against my faith and what I've always believed in, she has always encouraged and reminded me that I don't have to change who I am to get the approval of others.
- Spending time with her never gets old.
- She is absolutely awesome.... She sometimes sings and dances in the kitchen, she has a unique sense of style, sometimes she talks to herself, she makes funny faces at our dog all the time, and she has some pretty funky but lovely hair. She really is just awesome.
- She always listens to me rant. Sometimes I get upset about the dumbest or smallest of things, but she always sits and listens whenever I need someone to complain too.
- She's strong. My mom is one tough cookie both emotionally and physically. Although I'd like to think I could take her in a fight, I sometimes have my doubts and think she'd probably kick my butt.
- She's pretty good at iPhone word games and always gives me a good challenge.
- I know she's constantly praying for me.
- She's helped me grow an appreciation for dark chocolate.
- She always made me eat my fruits and vegetables.
- She's patient.
- She always takes good care of me.
- She taught me respect, good manners, and to be polite.
- She truly taught me that life isn't fair and to keep on pushing through anyways.
- She always looks for the positives in every situation.
- She is almost always right about everything.
- She's sure to be proud and excited for my accomplishments.
- She's not afraid to take a good selfie.
- She always wins when we have family game night.
- She follows through with her commitments.
- She's incredibly faithful to my incredible dad and our family.
- She doesn't pick favorites out of her children although I know she secretly loves me just a little bit more.
- She genuinely cares about the things going on in my life.
- She's a good communicator.
- She's my number 1 fan.
- She's honest
- She gives and gives and gives without asking for anything in return.
- She makes me proud to be her daughter.

Mom, I hope you know that I really do love you more than words can say. I would not be where I am today without you in my life. I miss you so much and can’t wait to see you in a couple weeks. Have a wonderful day <3

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” – Proverbs 31:25-30
